Overview
Equips adults who teach, care for, or support young people with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to recognise, understand and respond to a young person experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis.
Course Overview
The Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) program teaches adults how to support young people aged 12–18 who may be facing mental health challenges. It provides practical, easy-to-use steps anyone can learn. The aim is to help trusted adults respond early, listen with care, and guide young people toward appropriate support.
Why YMHFA Matters in Bangladesh?
Young people in Bangladesh experience increasing pressures—from academic stress, social expectations, digital environments, and rapid change. Many youth do not feel comfortable talking openly about mental health.
YMHFA helps bridge this gap. It equips adults with the knowledge and confidence to notice when a young person may be struggling and to respond in calm, supportive, trauma-informed ways. This contributes to safer schools, healthier families, and stronger communities.
Who Can Join?
YMHFA is designed for adults aged 18+ who work with or care about young people, including:
