Overview
Teen Mental Health First Aid (tMHFA) trains 13–18-year-olds to support peers in distress, build confidence, reduce stigma, and safely connect them with trusted adults—empowering youth leaders to champion mental wellbeing in schools and communities.
Course Overview
Teen Mental Health First Aid (tMHFA) is a training program designed for young people aged 13–18. It teaches teens how to support a friend or classmate who may be going through a tough time. The program focuses on building understanding, confidence, and safe communication skills so teens know how to respond and how to seek help from a trusted adult.
Why TMHFA Matters in Bangladesh?
Bangladeshi teenagers face many pressures—school demands, social changes, family expectations, and online environments. Teens are often the first to notice when their friends are stressed or struggling, but they may not know what to do.
tMHFA fills this gap. It gives young people simple, practical steps to support each other safely and encourages them to involve responsible adults when needed. This helps create kinder, more supportive school and community environments.
Who Can Join?
tMHFA is designed for students aged 13–18 and is usually delivered through:
Schools and colleges
Youth groups or clubs
Community organisations
NGO-led youth programs
It works best when delivered alongside Youth MHFA for teachers, parents, and school staff, helping adults and teens work together for safer wellbeing support.
